Looking for something different? In this unique synchronous blended book study format, you and other course participants will have the opportunity to meet virtually from the comfort of your own home and engage in weekly “book club” discussions. We will walk through this book together navigating the complex issue of student mental health. We will explore the scope of mental health issues, become more aware of the signs and symptoms of mental health disorders, gain an understanding of how we might navigate and support our students and families working through the complexities of a mental health diagnosis, and acquire the skills that will empower us with suicide prevention best practices. This course fulfills the Suicide Prevention Training and re-licensure requirement. You will deepen your understanding between synchronous sessions through exchanging ideas, while developing strategies and resources to incorporate into your practice. Access to technology with a webcam (cellphone, computer, tablet) with live streaming capabilities is necessary to take this course. Synchronous meetings will use a provided ZOOM conferencing link.
